Australia intends to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan

On Wednesday, during the visit of the delegation of the Parliament of Azerbaijan to Australia, which included the head of the inter-parliamentary group Khanlar Fatiyev and member of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament Asim Mollazadeh met with the mayor of the city of Sterling Giovanni Italiano. 

During the meeting the sides discussed issues of cooperation in the field of economy, mutual investments, as well as ways how to attract entrepreneurs to work in Australia and Azerbaijan. It was noted that at the present among the perspective directions of economic development of Azerbaijan's non-oil sector and the exchange of experiences and technologies with Australia in this area would be very useful for both countries.

The sides discussed issues of cooperation in the humanitarian, cultural and tourism spheres, including education.

The delegation of Azerbaijan also met with John McGrath, the deputy of the Parliament of Western Australia.

During the meeting John McGrath was informed about the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the occupation policy of Armenia, more than one million Azerbaijani refugees, genocide in Khojaly committed by Armenians.

The sides also discussed the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Australia.
