Azerbaijani gas exports from Shah Deniz rise 10.5% in Jan-Aug

Azerbaijani gas exports from the Shah Deniz project's Stage 1 totaled 4.718 billion cubic meters ( bcm) in January-August 2016, 10.5% more than in the same period last year, the State Statistics Committee told Interfax.


Azerbaijan's trunk gas pipelines transported 13.606 bcm of gas in the eight months, 2.6% less year-on-year.


Azerbaijan exported 6.65 bcm of gas from Shah Deniz Stage 1 in 2015.


Shah Deniz consortium participants include project operator BP (28.8%), TPAO (19%), SOCAR (16.7%), Petronas (15.5%), and Lukoil and Nico (10% each).


Gas sale agreements under the Shah Deniz project's Stage 1 were signed between Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia. Output is exported to Turkey on the South Caucasus gas pipeline.
