An Azerbaijani army serviceman was killed in fighting with Armenians near the separatist region of Nagorno-Karabakh yesterday, the Defense Ministry in Baku said in a statement.
The ministry expressed condolences to the family of the soldier, Nihad Rahimli, adding that responsibility for any escalation of tensions will lie solely with Armenia’s "criminal military and political leadership.”
At least three Armenians were killed when the Azerbaijani army pounded their positions near the line of contact, the Defense Ministry said yesterday.
