The chairman of the Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with Religious Structures, Mubariz Qurbanli, has said at a meeting of the committee that 40 books were prevented from being disseminated in the country, the Azerbaijani APA news agency reported on 25 July.

"In the course of the period [the first six months of 2016], 630 pieces of religious literature were discussed and 40 books that promoted religious intolerance, discrimination, and radicalism were prevented from being imported and disseminated in the country," APA quoted Qurbanli as saying.

He also said that the registration of religious structures continued during the aforementioned period. Twenty-six religious structures were registered and the number of such structures thus reached 707.
