The U.S. Dow Jones stock index fell by 1.68% to 24 608,98 points, S&P 500 by 1.33% to 2 677,67 points and NASDAQ by 1.27% to 7 180,56 points.
 
In the European stock markets, FTSE 100 index decreased by 0.78% to 7 175,64 points, Germany’s DAX by 1.97% to 12 190,94, French CAC 40 by 1.09% to 5 262,56, APA-Economics reported.
 
At the latest COMEX auctions, gold prices ascended $12.60 to $1 317,80 an ounce and silver price also rose by $0.17 to $16.45.
