Nicola Adams dances past Elif Coskun into final

Great Britain's Nicola Adams was always too strong for Elif Coskun of Turkey as she eased into the final of the flyweight division.

But the Olympic champion could find Sandra Drabik of Poland a more difficult opponent when they meet on Thursday.

Adams remains supremely confident. "I really want it and I have done so since I first heard about the European Games," she said. "I'm creating history every time I step into the ring.

"The coaches have always said that you have to have fun out there and the more fun you have and the more relaxed you are, the better you will perform and that is what I do.

"I dance as I come out. I am always smiling and laughing beforehand, and then when I get in there, it is down to business."

Drabik outboxed Saiana Sagateva of Russia from start to finish and warned she will be no easy opponent for Adams.

Drabik said: "I came here to win the gold medal and I think I can win. It will be a hard fight against the British girl. I have fought her once before and I lost."

Dutch middleweight (60-75kg) Nouchka Fontijn has been one of the most impressive woman boxers and the power of her punching was the telling factor against Germany's Sarah Scheurich in their semi-final.

Anna Laurell Nash of Sweden continued her impressive comeback after a long illness by reaching the middleweight final on a split decision against Poland's Lidia Fidura.

Azerbaijani Teymur Mammadov made up for the defeat of his countryman and No 1 bantamweight (56kg) seed Tayfur Aliyev in the  semi-finals by doing just enough to beat Pavel Silyagin of Russia in the light heavyweight (81kg) division.

Mammadov will now meet the Italian No1 seed Valentino Manfredonia, who was nursing a deep eye cut in his fight against Oleksander Khyzhniak of Ukraine, but managed to survive without further damage.
