Tariffs at peak, hopes for cuts through talks -U.S. Treasury Secretary

Import tariffs are currently at their highest level, and expressed hope that they could be lowered through negotiations with other countries, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in an interview with Fox News.

Bessent added that the prospect of tariff reductions would depend on U.S. partners. Nearly 70 countries have reached out to the United States to discuss the issue, he said.
