2 dry cargo ships collide near Russia’s Astrakhan

A collision between two dry cargo ships occurred in the Chernoyarsk district of Russia’s Astrakhan region, one of the dry cargo ships was damaged, and no oil spill was recorded, according to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the region.

"On November 20 at 08:22, the operational duty shift of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Astrakhan Region received a message from the dispatcher of the city of Volgograd that in the Chernoyarsk district of Kamenny Yar there was a collision between two dry cargo ships "Omsky-103” (there is damage to the vessel above the waterline) and a dry cargo ship RT-444,” reads the message.

The ship’s crew does not require medical assistance, the navigation is not disrupted, there are no water leaks in the hull and no oil spills.
