The main goal of this program with duration of 2 months, designed for students and graduates, is to provide young persons aged 18-25, who are planning to start their careers, with an opportunity to get acquainted with a real work environment at one of the biggest companies of Azerbaijan, gain practical experience and develop work-readiness skills.

As an evidence of great interest in the "Smart Start” internship program shown by the youth, more than 2000 applications for the participation in the program were submitted to Bakcell this year, and 33 young persons who have successfully passed the selection process were admitted to the program. 

During 2 months the participants will undergo their internship in the following departments: Human Resources, Marketing and Sales, Accounting, Retail Sales and Distribution, Corporate Sales, Information Technologies Operations, Customer and Enterprise Management Platforms, Service Operations Center, Program Management, Customer Care Strategy and Online Services Management, and Customer Services.

In the course of the internship program, participants will acquire the relevant knowledge and skills under the supervision of mentors appointed from among the company’s specialists, study the overall structure and operating principles of the company, as well as take part in training sessions on career development planning, business ethics, effective time management, effective communication, self-realization, safety and environmental protection, health and other subjects. 

It should be noted that a total of 54 alumni have completed the Smart Start internship program during the years 2014-2015, presently 12 of them work at Bakcell, and others are regarded as potential candidates for the new job openings at the company. 

Bakcell provides the interns with a relevant stipend to cover their daily meal and travel expenses during 2-month period. Upon completion of the internship program, all the participants are evaluated and granted with certificates proving their participation in the project.

A new website was launched this year to ensure that the youth receive more detailed information on this program and to make the application process more dynamic and easier. The website allows applying for the internship program, receiving information, reading news and internship stories shared by the applicants, registering to join the events organized by Bakcell at universities and reading about advices given to interns by our colleagues.
