Knapp dropped only one game.
She's backing up from a loss in the Bad Gastein final on Sunday. Next up will be Alexandra Panova, one of four Russians in the last eight.
Kirsten Flipkens of Belgium eliminated seventh-seeded Vitalia Diatchenko of Russia 6-4, 7-6 (5), and lined up top seed Anna Pavlyuchenkova of Russia in the quarters.
Patricia Maria Tig of Romania earned her first career quarterfinal by defeating fellow qualifier Olga Savchuk of Ukraine 7-5, 6-4.
Evgeniya Rodina of Russia also advanced to play compatriot Margarita Gasparyan.
