7 substances proposed to be banned in Azerbaijan as illegal drugs

Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee has come up with a proposal that seven substances—MT-45, PMMA, a-PVP, 4.4-DMAR, MXE, and Phenazepam—should be banned as illegal drugs and psychotropic medications, which are restricted, controlled, and prohibited from circulation in the territory of Azerbaijan.

The State Customs Committee says the idea behind the proposal is to improve the law on preventing the circulation of illegal drugs, psychotropic medications, and their precursors.

These substances are expected to be put on the lists confirmed by related international conventions on drug control at the 59th session held in Vienna of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs of the UN Economic and Social Council.
