ADB to sell bonds in Azerbaijani market

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is interested in a local bond sale in the Azerbaijani market, ADB Treasurer Pierre Van Peteghem said.
Peteghem said at a meeting with Rufat Aslanli, the head of Azerbaijan’s State Securities Committee, on May 6 that ADB is in talks with the Azerbaijani authorities to sell bonds in the country.
Aslanli welcomed the idea, the committee said on its website. He had an exchange of views with Peteghem on the prospect of Azerbaijan’s pension funds, insurance companies and financial institutions buying the planned ADB bonds.
Aslanli also said Azerbaijan is preparing a new law on the securities market, and the law will be adopted soon.
