A peace treaty with Azerbaijan can be signed within a few days, Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan told journalists, reported from Sputnik-Armenia.

"I said that this peace treaty can be signed within 10 or 5 days. We have sent our proposals, this is already the 6th exchange. If Azerbaijan does not change anything, does not make new proposals․․․ this can be done within a few days,” said Simonyan.

The speaker didn’t rule out that after a certain time it is possible that some Armenians will go to live in Azerbaijan and some Azerbaijanis will come to Armenia and engage in trade.

"Yes, we are moving towards peace, it cannot be any other way. And the allegations that we were in conflict and this is an unsolvable issue are unacceptable to me. History knows many cases: England and France fought for 116 years, killing each other. And today England and France are the closest allies,” Simonyan added.
