Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi planned to visit Armenia; the visit was being prepared long before the helicopter crash, Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan told journalists, reported from Sputnik Armenia.

"As you know, the next visit (after the meeting with the president of Azerbaijan) of the president of Iran was supposed to be to Armenia. We are very sorry about what happened. Both the president and the head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry were actively working in the region,” he noted.
