Ambassador: US hails measures taken by Azerbaijani Gov't to fight gender-based violence

The US highly appreciates the measures taken by the Azerbaijani Government to fight gender-based violence, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lee Litzenberger said at the 1st National Conference of First Aid Parties to Combat Gender-Based Violence.

Violence against women is a direct violation of their rights, the ambassador said, expressing hope that gender-based violence would be eliminated in Azerbaijan through raising awareness.
