Angelina Jolie, the 38 years old director, actress, and humanitarian landed in Sarajevo with William Hague, the British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, who she traveled with on their mission.Discussing her visit, Angelina said that they were there to meet victims of the Bosnian war, the female and male survivors of rape who are carrying a terrible burden. “The use of rape as a weapon of war is one of the great injustices of our time. For too long the world has tolerated these crimes, and left survivors to struggle in the shadows. Our goal is to bring forward the voices of the survivors of these crimes and to ask the world to stand with them and against impunity.”Jolie, was spotted getting visibly upset as she listened to the rape victims in the town of Srebrenica. It is hoped to break taboos about war rape.The head of the association of Srebrenica mothers, Munira Subasic, said that the tradition is not to talk about the rape.
