Armed man surrenders after mall shooting in Russia's Rostov

The tranquility of a typical shopping day in Russia's Rostov was abruptly shattered when gunshots rang out at the Suvorovsky Shopping Center in Rostov-on-Don, Russia.

According to the information, which cites Russian media, an eyewitness said on local Telegram channels that the harrowing event unfolded in multiple stages. The armed assailant, whose identity remains undisclosed, initially opened fire in the parking lot of the shopping center. In a terrifying sequence of events, he then rushed into a nearby coffee shop before entering the main shopping complex itself.

Emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene. In a surprising turn of events, the gunman, faced with the rapid police presence, made the decision to surrender himself to the authorities.
