Azerbaijan's victory in the second Karabakh war put an end to the Armenian nationalists’ dream of a "great Armenia,” Taras Kuzio, a junior researcher with the Henry Jackson Society think tank in London, told Report.

"Azerbaijan’s victory will allow the restoration of this region, which was devastated by the occupying forces, and the return of internally displaced persons there. The victory left Armenia no choice but to - ultimately - recognize that Karabakh is part of Azerbaijan,” Kuzio said.

The pundit noted that Azerbaijan’s victory in the second Karabakh war reversed nearly three decades of illegal occupation by Armenia of a fifth of Azerbaijan’s territory, and also showed that the OSCE is a "paper tiger" that could not resolve the Karabakh conflict.

Taras Kuzio also underscored Turkey’s role in Azerbaijan’s victory in the 44-day long war, as well as the importance of the declaration of the allied relations signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey on June 15, 2021, in the city of Shusha.
