Armenian Foreign Ministry: Türkiye did not put forward any preconditions during talks

Türkiye did not put forward any preconditions for the Armenian-Turkish settlement during the process of normalizing relations between the countries, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said in parliament during the discussion of the report on the execution of the state budget for 2022.

"Both sides have repeatedly stated that there are no preconditions, and the goal is the final settlement of relations," Mirzoyan said.

According to him, opinions and views on this matter have been repeatedly voiced by a number of high-ranking officials. However, the foreign minister again noted that the agenda also does not include the issue of recognizing and condemning the so-called "Armenian genocide", and it has not happened so far.

Mirzoyan also commented on the visit of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to Ankara for the inauguration of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the fact that the Armenian prime minister was seated in the second row.

"This is a matter of protocol, all the prime ministers were sitting in the second row. Among them was the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who is an important person for Erdogan," Mirzoyan said.

The minister reiterated that these are protocol issues, and he is not sure that they are significant.
