Armenian opposition vows to paralyze Yerevan

The opposition in Armenia, demanding the resignation of the current Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, has announced mass actions of disobedience, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament from the Armenia faction, said in his video message, reported from local media.

"On May 17, at 08:00, large-scale actions of disobedience will begin. We will close roads, stop traffic, the whole city should be paralyzed," Saghatelyan said.

He also announced a rally in France Square. Saghatelyan advised employees not to go to work, thereby paralyzing the Armenian capital. The vice-speaker of the parliament also called on students, intellectuals and social activists to protest.

Armenia has been overwhelmed by mass protests since April 25.
