Armenian PM visits Moscow for EAEU meeting

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is currently on a visit to Moscow, to participate in the 41st meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), reported from Sputnik Armenia.

The first meeting of the council was held on January 1, 2015. Armenia, which currently chairs the EAEU, will hand over this role to Belarus after the meeting.

The council will discuss further deepening the integration of the prime ministers of the EAEU countries. According to the press service of the Russian government, special attention will be given to expanding cooperation in energy, industry, and the development of electronic commerce.

The Intergovernmental Council consists of the heads of the Cabinets of Ministers of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia. It ensures the implementation of decisions made by the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and monitors the implementation of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union, issuing instructions to the Eurasian Economic Commission and exercising other powers.
