Azeri positions in thevillages of Qizilhacili and Asagi Askipara in the western Qazax District andSixlar, Yusifcanli, Kangarli and Saricali in Agdam District came under Armenianfire attack overnight, the ministry said.
“The enemy was silenced byretaliatory fire,” it said.
Armenians captured nearly 20percent of Azerbaijan’s internationally-recognized territory, includingNagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding districts, in a war after the Sovietbreakup in 1991.
Large-scale hostilitiesended with a ceasefire in 1994 but the sides have yet to sign a peaceagreement.
