Separatists in Azerbaijan’s breakaway region of Nagorno-Karabakh have opened the Xocali airport for single-engine planes.
Armenians shared videos of flights on social networking websites.
The single-engine aircraft are mostly used by foreign tourists travelling to Nagorno-Karabakh.
One of the videos purports to show a plane taking off from the Xocali airport and flying over the towns of Xankandi and Shusha.
The airport had been closed since Armenians captured the Azerbaijani town of Xocali in February 1992.
Armenians committed the single deadliest massacre of the war in Xocali, killing over 600 fleeing residents, most of them women, children and elderly.
Azerbaijan has repeatedly warned Armenia against reopening the airport, threatening to shoot down any aircraft violating Azerbaijan’s airspace.
