Azerbaijan-Armenia-Russia Commission not meeting due to lack of consensus on some issues

The trilateral commission between Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia on unblocking regional communications, led by the deputy prime ministers of the three countries, is not continuing its meetings due to a lack of consensus on some issues, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan said in the Armenian parliament, reported from Armenian media.

"No, the meetings are not continuing. You know that there are fundamental issues on which there must be consensus. Until there is consensus, it is pointless to discuss details," he noted.

The trilateral commission was established in early 2021 at a meeting in Moscow by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia. They decided to create a working group at the level of deputy prime ministers, which would focus on establishing transport and economic ties in the region. The most important issue of regional communications continues to be the creation of a connection between the main part of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan through the territory of Armenia.
