Azerbaijan produced 6.8 million tons of crude oil in the first two months of the year, down from 7.2 million tons a year earlier, according to data released today by the State Statistics Committee.
Production of marketable natural gas rose to 3.1 billion cubic meters from 2.9 billion cubic meters.
Azerbaijan’s oil output has declined after peaking at 51 million tons in 2010.
Nearly 75 percent of the total output was provided by the BP-led Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block of fields last year.
ACG produced 32.2 million tons in 2013, down from 32.9 million tons the year before.
