Over 420 kg of drugs, including almost 49 kg of heroin, 169 kg of hashish and 129 kg of marihuana, were destroyed by Azerbaijan’s anti-drugs commission today.The drugs, seized by police throughout the year, were valued at over $6.6 million.They were set on fire in the town of Zabrat in Baku’s Sabuncu district in the presence of media.

Azerbaijan lies on a major drug trafficking route connecting Afghanistan to Europe.
