Azerbaijan exported 8.093 million tonnes of oil in Q1 2014, 4.8% less than in the same period of 2013, the country's State Customs Committee told Interfax.
According to meter readings, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline carried 6.514 million tonnes of oil, the Baku-Supsa pipeline 1.08 million tonnes and the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline 244,209 tonnes.
Over the period, 244,209 tonnes of oil was shipped by rail.
Oil declared for export amounted to 5.523 million tonnes for $4.56 billion.
The committee said Azerbaijan exported 397,531 tonnes of petroleum products for $279.387 million in Q1 2014.
The Customs Committee also said Azerbaijan exported 2.398 billion cubic meters of gas in January-March, 18.8% more than in the same period last year. This included 821.596 bcm for $145.955 million cleared under simplified customs declarations.
The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) exports gas to Russia, Iran and Georgia. The multinational consortium developing the Shah Deniz field in Azerbaijan's Caspian sector exports gas via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum pipeline to Georgia and Turkey.
