Azerbaijan exports more gas, less oil in first 11 months

Azerbaijan exported more natural gas and less crude oil in the first 11 months of 2014 year on year, the State Customs Committee said.

Gas exports grew to 7.7 billion cubic meters from 6.4 billion cubic meters a year earlier while crude exports fell to 30.2 million tons from 31.3 million tons, the committee said on its website.

The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) main export pipeline carried 24.6 million tons, down from 25.2 million tons.

Baku-Supsa delivered 3.86 million tons versus 3.65 million tons and Naku-Novorossiysk exported 933,336 tons versus 1.6 million tons.

Azerbaijan exported 855,575 tons of oil by rail, slightly down from 896,525 tons a year earlier.

Aside from crude oil, the country also delivered 2 million tons of condensate (light oil) during the period, the same as a year earlier.

Azerbaijan produced 38.4 million tons of oil in the first 11 months, down from 39.5 million tons year on year, the State Statistics Committee said last week.

Production of marketable natural gas rose to 17 billion cubic meters from 16.2 billion cubic meters.
