A rig fire that has been blazing at the Caspian Sea oilfield of Guneshli for more than two months was extinguished, state energy company SOCAR said.
The fire at the last of 27 wells was put out on Wednesday, the company said in a website statement.
Thirty oil workers were killed when rig No 10 caught fire following a storm on Dec. 4. It was the deadliest incident in Azerbaijan’s oil industry.
The bodies of 12 of the dead oil workers have been retrieved from the sea. The search for the remaining 18 is still continuing.
