She made the remark during the event themed "Investing in Renewable Energy: Pathways to a Sustainable Future," held as a part of COP29.
According to Humbatova, Azerbaijan boasts a vast renewable energy potential, both on land and at sea. The government has been conducting extensive research to assess this potential, with findings indicating a technical potential of 135 GW on land and an impressive 157 GW in the Caspian Sea.
She added that currently, the country's renewable energy potential, specifically in solar and wind power, stands at 27 GW on land and 157 GW on the Caspian shelf. Of course, it can be expanded.
"We have already conducted mini measurements at sea, and so far, Azerbaijan's economic power at sea is around 38 GW," Humbatova stated. "To create demand, we need to improve our regulations and legislative framework."
