Azerbaijan exported 8.4 million tons (approximately 700,000 barrels a day) of crude oil in the first quarter of 2015, up from 8.1 million tons a year earlier, according to the State Customs Committee.
Of the total, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) shipped 6.7 million tons compared with 6.5 million tons year on year, the committee said on its website.
The Baku-Supsa pipeline carried 1.09 million tons while the Baku-Novorossiysk link shipped 339,491 tons of oil.
Azerbaijan also exported crude oil by rail, shipping 254,356 tons during the period, up from 244,209 tons year on year.
The BTC pipeline exported 543,006 tons of condensate (light oil).
Azerbaijan’s natural gas exports remained almost steady at 2.4 billion cubic meters.
The Caspian Sea nation increased crude oil output 1.8 percent in the first quarter to 10.7 million tons, according to the State Statistics Committee.
Production of marketable natural gas rose 11 percent to 5.2 billion cubic meters.
