Azerbaijan is not planning to join the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) or the European Union, the country's economy and industry minister, Shahin Mustafayev said Tuesday, May 3 at a meeting with students of the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy with the participation of Russian Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev.
Ulyukayev urged the Azerbaijani government to consider joining the bloc, which was formally established last month in Astana, the Kazakh capital.
Its members include Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus. Armenia also promised to join.
