Azerbaijan ready to set up more enterprises using Belarusian technology

Azerbaijan is eager to use Belarusian technology to set up more production facilities in the country, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev said after the talks with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 28 November, BelTA reported.

Joint Belarus-Azerbaijan ventures have been a success, Ilham Aliyev noted. He cited Ganja Automobile Plant as an example. "This plant is an important industrial facility on the territory of Azerbaijan. We are ready to consider the establishment of other enterprises using Belarusian technologies in Azerbaijan, and the establishment of facilities for the processing of Azerbaijani farm products in Belarus,” Ilham Aliyev said.

To sum up the results of the talks, he said that the sides have determined the ways of further cooperation in the economy. The heads of state noted with satisfaction that in terms of the crisis the trade turnover between the two countries is stable. "We have also discussed the projects which will help boost bilateral trade. We should step up efforts to promote mutual trade,” the Azerbaijan President said.

Ilham Aliyev noted that Belarus and Azerbaijan have advanced relations to the level which matches the interests of two nations and can characterize them as the relations of strategic partners. "We have always tried to support each other. In the future we will do our best to ensure the mutual support of Belarus and Azerbaijan. We have sincere relations in international organizations, economic cooperation and other fields,” he said.
