Medics in Azerbaijan have identified new coronavirus infections in 534 people, bringing total Covid-19 cases in the country to 16,424, the republic's operative response headquarters said in a statement on Sunday.
Another five people infected with coronavirus have died over the past 24 hours. The death toll of Covid-19 has thus reached 198. Since the pandemic began, Azerbaijan has registered 9,026 recoveries, including 307 people who have recovered over the past day, the Azerbaijani coronavirus response headquarters said.
"Currently, 7,200 people are staying in special hospitals," it said.
More than 7,100 coronavirus tests have been performed in the country over the past day. In total, 468,967 such tests have been carried out in the country, the headquarters said.
