From 1 April, Azerbaijan began applying the Euro-4 ecological standard to imported and manufactured vehicles, News.az reported. 

The decision was taken by the Cabinet of Ministers on 14 January of this year in order to reduce the emission of pollutants by vehicles and improve the environmental situation in the country. 

In addition, from 1 April the amendment to standard AZS 636-2012 "Road vehicles. Environmental classes", which was approved by the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan, came into force. In particular, changes were made in the table of correspondence of car emissions to environmental classes depending on the country of manufacture and year.
