Azerbaijan has tightened sanitary and quarantine control at its border crossing points due to the Ebola outbreak, the State Customs Committee (SCC) said on Tuesday.
The SCC said special seminars were held for staff at the border-crossing points on the Ebola outbreak in various countries, Trend news agency reported.
The border-crossing points have taken preventive measures including carrying out disinfection of areas and requiring people passing through border checkpoints to undergo medical examinations, among others.
Thermal scanners are used at border checkpoints to measure a person's body temperature.
The Ebola virus is rapidly spreading in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Nigeria, Congo and Senegal in Africa.
The World Heath Organisation (WHO) says some 4,033 people have died from the disease.
