Azerbaijan is to allocate $1m to fight Ebola in Western Africa as a donor-country.

According to UN Radio, the statement came from head of the agency for international development of Azerbaijan Ashraf Sheikhaliyev:

"We are trying to define who will get this money. This will likely be the two UN structures that will implement jointly coordinated programs to fight Ebola. We do not set the goal to focus these funds on any country. We are currently consultations and define the format of using this aid".

Today Azerbaijan's assistance goes to nearly 30 countries of Africa, Asia and Latin America.
