Russia is preparing to export trainer and combat aircraft Yak-130 (NATO reporting name: Mitten) to Azerbaijan, the manufacturer said.
Last year Azerbaijani military pilots conducted test flights to familiarize themselves with the technical and tactical capabilities of the aircraft.
"Some procedures are being implemented. We think that Azerbaijan will be one of the users of Yak-130 soon," a company official said, according to APA.
He did not say how many of the jets Azerbaijan will buy.
The double combat trainer aircraft Yak-130 is designed for training pilots of combat aircraft "4 +++" and "5"th generations. Its armament consists of guided and unguided missiles.
Currently, these jets are being used by the armies of Russia, Belarus and Algeria.
