Azerbaijan plans to resume gas deliveries to Russia today after suspending shipments because of repairs, an official at state energy company SOCAR said on Tuesday.
"All repair works are over, and we will resume gas deliveries to Russia from tomorrow," an official, who did not want to be named, told journalists on the sidelines of the Caspian Oil & Gas conference.
"We will be shipping 2 million cubic metres of gas a day."
Azerbaijan suspended shipments of gas to Russia from Jan. 13, citing maintenance work on a motorway between the Azeri capital Baku and the Russian border that lies adjacent to the pipeline.
Russian state-controlled gas company Gazprom could not immediately be reached for comment.
Before the suspension, Azeri gas supplies to Russia amounted to 3 million cubic metres a day, a small fraction of Russia's total gas consumption.
Total gas production in Azerbaijan is expected to be around 27 billion cubic metres (bcm) in 2014, down from 29.2 bcm last year.
