Motor gasoline accounted for 30.3% of the total (578,800 tonnes), diesel fuel - 22.6% (431,700 tonnes), fuel oil - 29.5% (564,300 tonnes), gasoline as petrochemical feedstock - 4.4% (84,100 tonnes), aviation kerosene - 4.8% (92,100 tonnes), petroleum bitumen - 3% (57,800 tonnes), liquefied gas - 4% (76,300 tonnes) and lubricants - 1% (19,100 tonnes).
Consumption rose 160% for fuel oil, 180% for aviation kerosene, and 64.4% for liquefied gas. Fuel oil consumption increased due to increased use of that fuel at Azerenergy power plants and the growth in liquefied gas consumption reflected increased demand for polyethylene, for which it is feedstock.
Consumption declined 11% for motor gasoline, 14.9% for diesel fuel, 22.6% for gasoline as petrochemical feedstock, 14.6% for petroleum bitumen and 13.2% for lubricants.
