Azerbaijan increased production of natural gas in the first four months of 2014 year-on-year, the State Statistics Committee said.
The country pumped 6.1 billion cubic meters of gas during the period, up from 5.9 billion cubic meters a year earlier, the committee said today on its website.
Crude output fell to 14.1 million tons from 14.3 million tons.
No reason was given for the decline.
The Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block of fields in the Caspian Sea, which accounts for almost 80 percent of total oil production, cut output in the first quarter 2 percent, the country’s energy minister, Natiq Aliyev, told a cabinet meeting last month.
ACG production has been on a decline since 2010.
