Azerbaijani official: EU countries will need more green energy imports
15.11.2024 11:01
EU countries will need more green energy imports from Azerbaijan in the near future, Rana Humbatova, Deputy Director of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy, told an event titled "Investment in Renewable Energy: Paths to a Sustainable Future" held on the sidelines of COP29 in Baku.

"Therefore, we need to understand how green energy will be used and distributed in our country. A country pursuing energy transition must have ambitious goals and plans. In our national communication document, we worked closely with McKinsey Consulting and presented our vision regarding the implementation of renewable energy, including hydrogen technology, in our country. It was really interesting work. As a result, we now know which technology is effective in our territories. Naturally, it's solar energy. This is effective not only in terms of cost efficiency but also technically," Humbatova noted.
