Azerbaijan and Palestine have signed a memorandum of understanding that will see their foreign affairs ministries conduct consultations twice a year.
The memorandum was inked by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and his Palestinian counterpart Riyad Al Maliki.
Speaking at a press conference following the signing ceremony, Mammadyarov said the two countries` foreign ministries will conduct consultations twice a year in Baku and Ramallah.
He said they discussed with Mr. Al Maliki the ways of expanding Azerbaijan-Palestine cooperation in the social field, particularly in education. Mr. Mammadyarov said Azerbaijan will continue providing humanitarian assistance to Palestine and supporting the country in international organizations.
Mr. Al Maliki said Palestine was interested in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan. He said they agreed with Mr. Mammadyarov that the two countries should develop their relations in a variety of areas.
The Palestinian FM praised Azerbaijan`s humanitarian assistance to and support of his country on the international level.
