Azerbaijani team on rhythmic gymnastics wins bronze medals

The second Azerbaijani team won bronze medals in rhythmic gymnastics in the group all-around competition at the Open Joint Azerbaijan Championships in Gymnastics in Baku March 5.

Gymnasts representing the team Azerbaijan-2, scored 30.150 points, Trend reports. 

The team of Russia won the gold having scored 35.266 points, the silver medals went to France with 31.183 points. The first team of Azerbaijan took the fourth place with 30.149 points.

Azerbaijani gymnasts Ulyana Dyakova and Anatoliy Leonov, who performed together in the mixed doubles competitions in acrobatics, took the third place in the final on the results of combined exercises. Dyakova and Leonov scored 24.652 points. The representatives of Bulgaria won the gold, having scored 26.193 points. A couple from Germany took the second place, having scored 26.016 points.

The Open Joint Azerbaijan Championships in Gymnastics Disciplines is being held in Baku on March 4-6. This is the test championship on the eve of the First European Games.

Coming from 22 countries, 133 gymnasts will compete for medals in both the all-around and individual competitions.

Such well-known gymnasts, as two-time absolute world champion Yana Kudryavtseva (Russia, rhythmic gymnastics), Olympic silver medalist Filip Ude (Croatia), European champion Alexander Shatilov (Israel, both – sports gymnastics) and other athletes have arrived in the capital of Azerbaijan - Baku.

Azerbaijani gymnasts Oleg Stepko and Kristina Pravdina won gold medals in the all-around competition at the Open Joint Azerbaijan Championships in Gymnastics in Baku following the first day of the competition. Azerbaijani gymnast Petr Pahnyuk took the second place on the same type of competition
