"The presidents of Turkey, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan are set to meet to lay groundwork on possible future deliveries of natural gas from Turkmenistan to Europe," the Turkish edition Hurriyet daily news quoted Kapucu as saying.
He said the presidents would meet before the end of this year.
"The preferred proposed westward pipeline route for Turkmen gas would cross the Caspian Sea to Azerbaijan, from where it would feed into Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP)," the report said.
The 1,850-kilometer TANAP gas pipeline will transport Azerbaijani gas extracted in the Shah Deniz field from the Georgian-Turkish border to western borders of Turkey in the project's stage 2.
The foundation of the TANAP gas pipeline was laid in the Turkish province of Kars on March 17, 2015. The pipeline will have a capacity of at least 16 bcm, including 10 bcm to go to Europe and another 6 bcm to western areas of Turkey.
TANAP project is owned by Turkey's BOTAS (30%), SOCAR (58%) and BP (12%).
