Azerbaijan produced 4.5 billion cubic meters of marketable natural gas in the first quarter, up from 4.3 billion cubic meters a year earlier, according to the State Statistics Committee.
Oil production fell to 10.4 million tons from 10.8 million tons, the committee said on its website.
Azerbaijan is the largest oil producer in the former Soviet Union after Russia and Kazakhstan. It increased oil output 0.2 percent last year to 43 million tons.
The BP-led Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block of fields in Azerbaijan’s section of the Caspian Sea cut production to 32.2 million tons in 2013 from 32.9m tons.
