The Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) and Shah Deniz deposits in Azerbaijan’s section of the Caspian Sea produced less crude oil and natural gas in the first nine months of 2014 year-on-year, BP said.

ACG pumped 24.2 million tons in January-September, down from 24.5 million tons a year earlier, BP Azerbaijan President Gordon Birrel said, according to Trend news agency.

Shah Deniz produced 7.25 billion cubic meters of gas compared with 7.3 billion cubic meters, Gordon said.

Shah Deniz also produced 1.7 million tons of condensate, down from 1.85 million tons a year earlier.

BP is the operator of both ACG and Shah Deniz developments. Its partners include Azerbaijan’s state energy company SOCAR, Chevron, Exxon Mobil and Statoil, among others.

Azerbaijan’s total oil production in the January-September period fell to 32.1 million tons from 32.5 million tons a year earlier, the State Statistics Committee said.

Marketable gas output rose to 13.8 billion cubic meters from 13.1 billion cubic meters.
