Azerbaijan’s defense minister visits Pakistani president

(Baku Daily) - Azerbaijan’s Defense Minister Col-Gen Zakir Hasanov has met Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain in Islamabad. 

Hussain said Pakistan attaches “highest priority” to its relations with Azerbaijan, his office said. 

He emphasized on further strengthening of bilateral defense, trade and economic relations between the two countries.

Hussain assured Hasanov of Pakistan’s continued support to Azerbaijan on the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh. He appreciated support by Azerbaijan on the Kashmir issue and the stance of Pakistan for the peaceful settlement of the issue in accordance with UN resolutions and wishes of the Kashmiris.

The president apprised that Pakistan welcomes Azerbaijan’s Armed Forces personnel for acquiring quality training at Pakistan’s Armed Forces training institutions on gratis basis. 

Pakistan also offered English language courses for Azerbaijan’s officers and cadets at National University of Modern Languages Islamabad and Naval English Training Centre, Karachi.

Hasanov Defence thanked the Pakistani president for the meeting and expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation between the two countries in diverse fields would be further enhanced in the future.
