Azerbaijan's foreign exchange market grew by almost 33% in 1H2024

The value of transactions carried out in the currency market of Azerbaijan amounted to $20.2 billion in the first half of 2024, marking an increase of 32.9% year-on-year, reported from the Central Bank.

During the reporting period, non-cash operations accounted for $17.8 billion, while cash operations made up $2.4 billion, respectively, 32.8% and 33.3% more than a year ago.

Some 81% of non-cash transactions and 87.5% of cash transactions were in US dollars, while 19% and 12.5%, respectively, were in other currencies.
