Azerbaijan has begun reducing oil production in accordance with its agreement with OPEC, Energy Ministry spokesman Zamina Aliyeva told Interfax.


"Azerbaijan has begun meeting its commitment to OPEC. Beginning in January, the country began the process of reducing oil production in the volumes agreed upon at the OPEC meeting," Aliyeva said.


Under the agreement, Azerbaijan will reduce its oil production by 35,000 barrels per day.
